What's happening at our wedding (besides us getting married)? We are aiming for the weekend to be about laughter, being in love and sharing this incredible time with our closest friends and family. We want "gezelligheid" and for everyone to feel at home in our awesome castle.
Here's a small preview of our plans.
1.00pm - Everyone is welcome to come to the castle and join us in the public areas of the castle from this time. Anybody staying at the castle is welcome to check in. The plan is to relax in the grand rooms, enjoy the grounds, play billiards, and generally savour this amazing place that we will have for our exclusive use. No lunch will be provided, so bring snacks if you haven't eaten.
6.00pm - There will be a banquet-style buffet to savour. Liz and Gerard will be catering a feast! Locally sourced goodies from the North Sea and farmlands close by. Oh and we're picking up the bar tab - have fun! Don't worry if you are arriving later, we'll keep the food warm for those of you travelling in from further afield.
9.30pm - The buffet will finish by this point, as we need to make way for the castle staff to prepare the dining room for the following morning.
11.30pm - Time for beauty sleep
Saturday - The Wedding Day
9.00am - 10.00am - Guests at the castle or the on-site cottages will be having breakfast in the Castle dining room.
11.00am - All wedding guests to arrive at the venue by this time.
12.00pm - Wedding ceremony followed by canapes
3.00pm - Wedding breakfast
5.30pm - Time for relaxing, taking pictures, having drinks (followed maybe by a nap?). Free time to enjoy the beautiful surroundings with the new Mr & Mrs Breukink
7.30pm - Music, more food and generous libations!
8.00am - 10.00am - Breakfast for castle guests as above
9.30am - Clay Pigeon shoot begins at the castle
11.00am - All guests check out and settle your accommodation bill
12.00pm - All guests to have left the castle premises
1.00pm - We'll have a traditional Scottish sunday roast at the nearby Wheatsheaf Inn.
